There are many gastrointestinal surgeries that can make it difficult to get the fluids and nutrients you need. Recovery from GI surgery can be a rocky road when you are also suffering from dehydration and nutrient deficiencies. Hospitals make it easy for patients to stay hydrated with IV fluids for their patients – the same option is available at home with mobile IV therapy.

Many GI surgeries will require limitations on food and beverage intake during recovery. Since you need your fluids and nutrients to heal, this can be frustrating. It is common for patients recovering from surgery on their stomach, esophagus, gallbladder, colon or other digestive organs to experience nausea or vomiting that can make it hard to get enough nutrition and hydration. A solution is to bypass the digestive system altogether to replenish the fluids and nutrients.

Bariatric and GI Recovery

If you had weight loss surgery like a gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy, you would need to follow a restricted diet during recovery. Many other GI surgeries like hiatal hernia or gallbladder removal will require a similar diet. Often patients may only be able to consume liquids and in very tiny quantities. If a patient is experiencing nausea or abdominal pain, getting the advised amount of fluids may be almost impossible. Dehydration can cause serious health problems, especially when the body is trying to heal from major surgery.

Mobile IV therapy is ideal for patients who are not getting the required fluids absorbed every day. Ideally, bariatric patients should be consuming 64 ounces of water or fluid a day, which can be very hard to accomplish in the first weeks after surgery. IV vitamin drips provide instant delivery of fluids, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients to rehydrate patients during their recovery.

At IV Healing Infusions & Peptide Therapy, we offer a wide variety of vitamin drip formulas that can help patients recovering from GI or bariatric surgery, including our post-surgery optimizer. We welcome patients at our spa in Los Angles or we offer mobile IV therapy to many of the surrounding communities, including Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Marina Del Ray and more. I have known Dr. Mahjoubi professionally for nearly a decade and have worked extensively with him. I cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Mahjoubi. He is an amazing anesthesiologist and physician. Dr. Mahjoubi is a kind, competent, and caring physician. I have referred patients with depression for ketamine treatment. The patients have been extremely impressed with his care but also report feeling so much better after their treatment. I would have no reservation recommending him to any friend or family member.

I won't get into my life story/medical history here, but I was super skeptical of the entire process, but Dr. Mahjoubi was awesome and walked me through the whole thing. He was very responsive anytime I called or texted him. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Dr. Mahjoubi is an incredible doctor who really cares about his patients. He takes time to adjust medications so that it's really tailored to you and works more effectively. He has an incredible bedside manner and makes you feel as though you're the only patient he's caring for. He's thorough and genuinely ensures not just pain relief, but better overall health in general. One of the best doctors I've had the pleasure to meet.

I took my aunt to see Dr. M. The experience we had was great. I was so impressed. He was so kinda and took the time to listen to the problems my aunt has been having. He changed her medication and gave her some treatments that have honestly made such a difference for her. We can't thank you enough!
